Perennial weight-for-age performer Foreteller ($4) has maintained status as outright favourite in 2015 Eagle Farm Cup betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of stable mate Moriarty ($4.20) and talented kiwi three-year-old Werther ($4.40).

Will Foreteller justify favouritism and win the 2015 Eagle Farm Cup or will one of his many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Werther ($4.40)

Werther will carry a race-low 55.5kgs, carries exceptional form into the race and has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop James McDonald. Posting three wins and five minors over eleven career starts so far, the son of Lord Tavistock booked a trip to Australia when finishing second in the Group 3 Manawatu Classic (2000m) and winning the Group 2 Championship Stakes (2100m) on April 18th. Having run a close second to standout filly Delicacy in the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m) on May 9th, Werther is sure to find ideal running position from barrier 6.

2nd

Foreteller ($4)

A three-time Group 1 winner, Foreteller is yet to hit peak condition this time but will relish the conditions and distance of the 2015 Eagle Farm Cup and is a leading chance of finishing in the first three. Taking out the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) most notably through a strong spring campaign, Foreteller ran fourth in the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes (1800m) on April 25th; progressing to sixth in the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) last time out. Allocated the ideal barrier 2, all signs seem to point towards a strong performance from the eight-year-old on Saturday.

3rd

Epingle ($10)

A proven performer over course, distance and conditions, Epingle has posted several commendable results over the last 12 months and offers exceptional value at current Eagle Farm Cup odds. securing six wins and a further 13 minors over 34 career starts so far, the Pins mare ended a strong spring campaign a close second in the Group 2 Zipping Classic (2400m) and returned this time for success in the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap (2200m) on the Gold Coast most notably on April 25th.
