Three-year-old Col ‘N’ Lil has been included in 2015 Eagle Farm Cup nominations and will be treated particularly well in the weights should she accept into the final field.

Posting three wins and a further five minors over her eleven career starts so far, Col ‘N’ Lil has undoubtedly found career-best form to date since returning to racing this time; set up by an impressive win in the Park View Motel Handicap (1300m) on March 28th.

Running second in her next two competitive hit-outs, including the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) on May 9th, the Bradbury’s Luck filly ran a credible fourth in the Listed Princess Stakes (2000m) before finishing a fighting second in the Group 2 The Roses (2000m) last weekend.

Trainer Chris Waller is set to dominate the 2015 Eagle Farm Cup final field after including each of Foreteller, Hawkspur, I’m Imposing and Moriarty in nominations.

A three-time Group 1 winner, Foreteller has finished fourth in the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes (1800m) and sixth in the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) this time and will relish a step-up to 2200m.

Winner of the 2013 edition of the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m), Hawkspur has also steadily built to the task over two starts this time but will need to find an extra gear if to return to the winner’s circle in the Eagle Farm Cup.

Arguably Waller’s best chance of success in the 2015 Eagle Farm Cup, I’m Imposing has finished third in each of the Hollindale Stakes, Doomben Cup and Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup since arriving in Brisbane.

Winner of the 2014 edition of the Eagle Farm Cup, Moriarty ran on for fourth in the Doomben Cup last time out and will also enjoy a return to 2200m.

Seven-year-old Epingle will need to muster a huge effort for success in the Eagle Farm Cup but has proven she is more than capable this season.

Posting six wins and a further 13 minors over 34 career starts so far, the Pins mare beat only one runner home in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) first-up before producing a huge final straight sprint to win the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap (2200m) as a $21 outsider on the Gold Coast on April 25th.

While failing to make much of an impact in the Doomben Cup, trainer Michael Kent has been thrilled with the conditions of Epingle in recent weeks and is confident of a competitive performance in the Eagle Farm Cup.
